could not exist without the help of volunteers. We'll make getting
involved as easy as possible. Whether you believe you're skilled or
'not so skilled,' have one day each week or just a few hours a month,
represent a group or just yourself -- you are needed at Habitat
-Volunteer staff positions are flexible so that they work with your
busy schedule. You can even design your own position that highlights
your unique skills and interests!
days can be arranged that are both fun for your group and tackle a
'special project' of the ReStore all at the same time!

with individual employees as an option for your company's community
service program. ReStore participates in corporate match and giving
programs, if available, allowing your company to support causes
important to your employees.
-With Saturday and after school hours, ReStore is an excellent place to
complete learning service requirements.
Development Activities -Some individuals just can't commit
to a long-term volunteer position, but that doesn't mean that they
can't volunteer. If you only have one Saturday a year, spring or summer
breaks from school, or are looking for a one-time family/couples
activity, ReStore has the perfect opportunity! These development
activities are designed to be completed in just a few hours; giving a
real sense of accomplishment. It gives everyone the opportunity to give
of their time and contribute to our cause without a long-term
Here are just a few of the Volunteer
- Help the environment and community
- First pick of new items
- Meet new and interesting people
- Volunteer with a drummer in a rock band, a
remodeling contractor, a former KU & Haskell football player, a
grease monkey, or a trained electrician.
- Regular volunteers earn "ReStore Bucks" to spend in
- Plus much, much, more!!
You may work at any of these tasks:
- Prepare, stock, and display donated materials
- Keep Habitat ReStore clean
- Assist in loading purchases
- Work with Sales and with Pickup as needed
Sales and Cashier
- Greet customers
- Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful
- Respond to customer questions
- Assist customers in locating and loading materials
- Coordinate with Warehouse to keep shelves stocked
- Collect donations
- Quality control responsibility
- Load, secure, transport, and unload donations
- Maintain loading area
- Maintain vehicles (preventive)
